The Egypt Game
I couldn’t have imagined two people more different when I met April Hall and Melanie Ross. It wasn’t until they discovered their shared love of Egypt that I thought they had any hope as friends. Mrs. Snyder perfectly portrayed the imagination and creativity of two young sixth graders. However, I found it hard to relate to the book for its lack of personal detail, and conflict. I find it very hard to believe that two girls such as April and Melanie with such extensive personalities can fit together so ideally. The playfulness in the book however is entertaining, but I found it to conventional. Along with the educational portion, which I found was poorly placed into the plot.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is 6th grade and below. Happy reading!
