Sonnet

I watch your grace follow your fleeing soul

For now you see your life is all but fake

The winter’s call then puts you to your goal

You find the fight has nothing more at stake

I left bare am drenched ugly with hate

You call to me to ask of my fair plight

I scold their claim to say it was just fate

You praise the day we gave a righteous fight

Must I be here and you be dead immune?

Can I think only you and of my shame?

I live for naught the sun but for the moon

I find the day of death seeks me the same

I see no other path to reach this peak

I give my life to thee for you I seek
