	The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami was an undersea earthquake with an epicenter just off the coast of Indonesia. 

Results: 227,898 people killed. Rampant epidemics due to high population density. Fresh drinking water needed. Tried to retain the spread of cholera, diphtheria, dysentery, etc. Significant effort in burying bodies. $14 billion in aid provided. Severe damage to coral reefs, forests, coastal wetlands, etc. Overall impact to national economy was minor, local economies devastated.
