Must have been an ice breaker exercise when I started working at Cisco. I was talking to my friend/former Coursicle intern Monty about these not long ago. On one hand, we thought they were stupid. On the other hand, they did appear to be a great way of identifying who in the group is actually creative/interesting. If the most interesting fun fact you can think about yourself is "I have 2 dogs" then either you're not very interesting or you must not think you are. This was a great insight he had, and ever since then I've looked at these exercises differently. My go-to for fun fact is "I type in an alternative keyboard layout called Dvorak."
