“What’s on the test?” The question that has destroyed human education.

We are taught that all subjects are of equal importance, which is why the same amount of time is dedicated to each subject regardless of the students interest. Shouldn’t the same precedent be true within a subject. Any tangent pertinent to the subject at hand should be allowed. Although redundancy may be common in this approach, this repetition is already present in our current system. Standards destroy education. They destroy curiosity. They destroy interest.

Understanding and connections cannot be expressed in a typical test. The most appropriate measurement of understanding, is speaking with no structure.
