There are few people I admire more than Colin Atrophy Hagendorf. Over the course of two years, he tries every pizza place in Manhattan (thank god, because if hadn't done this I would have felt like I had to do it). I also find his writing style very appealing. He landed on Pizza Suprema near Penn Station as the best slice, and I have to say: he's probably right. Their upside down Sicilian is especially incredible. I was reading their site one day and found that the owner used to be so purist that even though customers always asked for toppings, he refused to add any to his pizza. Eventually he relented, but some of his commitments remained, including using 3 different marinaras for different types of pizzas. It makes sense: a sauce that works for a Sicilian slice isn't necessarily going to hold for a NY slice.
