We were not treated like rational beings by our accelerator. It really pissed Tara and me off. B2C companies should not be wasting time and money on fucking conferences and T-shirts when they're first starting out.

The JumpFund will be there, GrowthX will be there, and tons of other VC's and investors. At least one of you should be there, if not both. This is an important event. I'd like you to be there.

Our decision was based on the expense (tickets, hotel, etc.) + June 6th/7th is days before a lot of schools’ freshman registrations are starting, which we need to be prepared for, but we can talk about it again.

At least one of you should be there, if not both. JumpFund will want to meet you in person. 

You can prepare for the freshman registrations the week / weekend before, and you don't have to attend the event the entire time. 

You can share hotel rooms with other founders, or look at rooms on airbnb. The tickets are not expensive and you have a discount code for $100 OFF.

You saved money by Tara deciding to not visit in May, and you are spending money to fly to Boston this weekend to attend the graduation.

I'd like to see you at this event.

As I said, we’ll talk about it again. 

We want to make sure we don’t mess up the launch, which is the reason for our circumspection. We in many ways messed up the launch in April because we underestimated the amount of preparation it took to market to 100 schools vs 5 despite all the processes we had already automated. We don’t want to make that mistake again. 

To us, those are expensive tickets, even with the discount. I don’t think the benefits of going were made clear, at least to us. 

The money to fly to Boston is coming from my personal account; it’s not the company’s money. The reason Tara didn’t fly down was because that would have come out of the company account.

Ok. Discuss internally. I just wanted to make sure you had my thoughts on the opportunity. At the end of the day, you are the founders and I trust and support whatever you decision you make. If you don't go to this event, you'll need to book a trip to Chattanooga sometime this summer to meet with the JumpFund. However you could probably find a time that doesnt conflict with registration.
